Important Announcement Below
Grant awards will be funded from one or more of the above listed sources and successful applicants will be required to fill out the reporting forms for the specific funding sources(s) from which the grant award(s) is made.
There are four important items in this Announcement that the OVP staff wants you to know about:
- Applicants will not be applying for a certain type of funding (VOCA, VAWA, SASP, State VALE), but rather will be applying for a specific project(s).
- There is a “Targeted Announcement” for the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Forensic Examiner project. Please see Attachment A for further information. Although this is a Targeted Announcement, the same application packet should be used when applying for this project. However, if the applicant is applying for a project besides the Sexual Assault Nurse/Examiner/Forensic Examiner project, a separate application should be filled out specifically for this project.
- The Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP) funds were not included in the Crime Victim Services funding for 2011 and 2012. Previously the grant awards for SASP were completed as a totally separate process. This year SASP funds will be part of the Crime Victim Services funding so applicants will not need to fill out an additional application. Only sexual assault programs (rape crisis centers), dual sexual assault/domestic violence programs, and child advocacy centers are eligible for SASP funding and only those types of agencies will be awarded SASP funds.
- There will be four grant application workshops to help you with filling out the application. All applicants are encouraged to attend. The grant application workshops will be held in Weld County, Mesa County, Pueblo and Denver. There will also be a webinar that will go over the same information as in the grant application workshops. Please RSVP on-line for the grant workshops including the webinar. The dates of the grant workshops are listed on page 7 of the Announcement as well as the instructions on how to RSVP on-line.
